The NFAWL (North Fork Animal Welfare League) was formed in 1963 as a not for profit organization in order to help prevent cruelty to animals and to extend humane education.   The NFAWL operates the Southold Animal Shelter where they provide shelter, food, grooming, exercise, and medical treatment for the animals and helps locate owners of lost animals and homes for homeless animals.  The NFAWL participates in enforcement by lawful means of all laws relating to, and in any way, affecting animals.  www.nfawl.org.

The Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, Inc., founded in 1946, is addressing the ever-growing numbers of people experiencing blindness and other disabilities that limit independent travel. SAVES, Inc.
SAVES, Inc. (Spay Alter Vaccinate Every Stray) was incorporated in 1996 as not-for-profit Corporation to promote Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) of felines, as well as spaying and neutering of companion animals. TNR has not only prevented the birth of thousands of feral kittens but has improved the quality of lives of the altered felines.  SAVES provides many services including:  free feline neuter/vaccination clinics for feral cats, financial assistance for spay/neutering & vaccination of companion felines for low & moderate-income households, insulated shelters for cat colonies, distribution of cat food to and management of cat colonies, assistance with the rescue, socialization and adoption of feral kittens, emergency care for sick or injured felines and humane education and outreach. RSVP, Inc. ("Responsible Solutions for Valued Pets") is a 501c3, non-profit animal rescue group serving Eastern Long Island, New York since 1995. Their Community Outreach program provides food, shelter and medical services for pets and owners needing financial assistence. Their Rescue and Adoption program will seek out and adopt the neediest dogs from overcrowded shelters and provide foster care or private boarding while searching for good, loving, permanent homes. Last ChanceAnimal Rescue Fund is a non-profit organization that rescues adoptable animals who are
scheduled to be euthanized in America's HIGH KILL shelters. They do not have a shelter but rather have all rescued dogs living in foster homes. They have partnered with a few of the local shelters to run "Puppy
Programs" that allows them to rescue weaned litters. Last Chance Animal Rescue Fund is run entirely by volunteers and they are continually recruiting for more help to handled tasks that range from administrative
