Dear Fellow Animal Lovers, Business Owners and Concerned Citizens:
We are planning the 2nd ‘Cutchogue Canine Classic’ - an entertainment-based dog show - that will be, simply stated, a fun-filled day for our community. ANYONE can enter their dog! This is a fun dog show! Twelve unique show categories include: ‘Best Lap Dog over 70 lbs,’ ‘Best Pet Trick,’ ‘Best Pet & People Look-alike,’ as well as ‘Best East End Blend’ (best mutt) and ‘Breeder’s Choice’ (best purebred). There will be food & vendors & music & animal education … AND dogs! Take a look at our Photo Gallery from the CCC 2008!
The ‘Judges’ (all ruling’s are FINAL!) are selected from a cross-section of North Fork leaders and personalities.
But, most importantly, the ‘Cutchogue Canine Classic’ Dog Show is designed to be a fund-raising opportunity to benefit: the North Fork Animal Welfare League, SAVES, INC., Kent Animal Shelter, the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and America’s Vet Dogs (which pairs trained canines with disabled veterans).
At the ‘Cutchogue Canine Classic’ Dog Show, representatives from each group will be there at NO COST TO THEM in order to promote their Organizations and their Services. They can distribute literature - sell any merchandise that they have – and bring some of their treasures (the animals!)
Additionally, other Rescue Groups & Organizations (such as Bideawee, the Grateful Greyhounds etc.) are invited ‘guests’ so that they can freely promote themselves & enjoy the festivities!
If, as a result of this Event - even one volunteer is found to foster a ‘Guide Dog’ in its first year of life - the 2009 ‘Cutchogue Canine Classic’ will be a success. Your sponsorship can help make this event GREAT!
BECOME A CHARTER SPONSOR! Get your name out there. Please take a moment and consider the different levels of sponsorship available. Make your Name/Logo visible and endear your product or service to the hearts of North Fork consumers! Show them your sense of community and pride in the North Fork!
Publicity for this event HAS BEGUN. Flyers are being distributed at community centers, through veterinarian offices, through the E-mailings of the various participating and interested groups, etc. Our web site is already linked to the various participating organizations, as well as venues such as Dog Parks, Dog Walking Clubs and Face Book! We are leaving no stone unturned!
Last year, the Cutchogue Canine Classic received excellent coverage from our local paper (the Times Review), from Dan’s Papers, from Suffolk Life, from WLNG radio, a mention and picture in Newsday and Cablevision filmed the Event and televised it on Channel 12 over the course of a month ... 186 different dogs were registered in the various ‘competitions’ and more than 700 people attended. And THAT was for a 1st time Event!
If you have questions, please feel free to contact any one of us. Thank You!
